We should want to be ourselves.
“The Dance is the story of how we can live soulfully on a daily basis. It is the story of my discovery that the question is not “Why are we so infrequently the people we want to be?” but rather “Why do we so infrequently want to be the people we really are?” It is the story of discovering why our quest for self-improvement does not lead to happiness or better lives or a more peaceful, just...
The leaves should burn.
There is a burning in my chest right now. It could be one of many things- the feelings that are reeling through my head, or my antibiotics killing an infection, or the infusion of caffeine from a small cup of afternoon coffee. Whatever it’s from it doesn’t feel good. It feels unsettling. *Sigh* I know it will pass though; I just have to wait.
I really can’t wait for autumn...

Reinventing the wheel. Oh, and I'm the wheel.
Don’t kill your dream. If you want to travel around the world but you don’t have the resources to do it, would you stop dreaming about it? Just because it is impossible today, doesn’t mean it won’t happen tomorrow. Dreams not only liberate; they also puts us in touch with who we are and who we want to be. If you stopped dreaming today, you will never get around the perceived limitations of...

Distinguish the ego and abandon it.
“Recognize the ego for what it is; a collective dysfunction, the insanity of the human mind. Once you see the ego for what it is, it becomes much easier to remain nonractive toward it. You don’t take it personally anymore.
In the seeing of who you are not, the reality of who you are emerges by itself. Only the truth of who you are, if realized, will set you free.

When I was little I took “Labor Day” very seriously and very literally believing it was the day that all women had their babies. As I got a little older and started to realize that I somehow had been born to this fine world on a day that was far far away from “Labor Day” I changed my interpretation, and I decided that “Labor Day” was the day declared to...

Mademoiselle, that is lovely.
What a lovely day- fresh air, whistling wind chimes, blue sky, nothing to do, and nowhere to be. Today, like yesterday, the weather was delicious in every sense of the word! Since I was stranded on my bed without my phone really working and no ability to focus on studying vocabulary because of the enticing breeze flowing in an open window, I took to letting my creative juices flow over the past...

So I’ve now been home from the hospital for 1 full day and I’m embarking on the second full day. For those of you that looked up what an appendectomy entails, or have had one yourself, you know what I’m going through and I will spare the graphic details. The short version is that I’m walking at a glacial pace like I just had my 85th birthday, it hurts to cry or laugh, and...
